The completion of works on the first national drought effects counteracting plan (DECP) prepared by the National Water Management Authority is approaching. After six months of public consultation, more than 800 proposals and comments have been submitted to this document. More than 300 of these are proposals for the construction or reconstruction of retention tanks, submitted to DECP Annex 1. The DECP project has entered the next stage, with an environmental impact assessment.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF THE DRAUGHT EFFECTS COUNTERACTING PLAN
Pursuant to Art. 39 par. 1 of the Act of 3 October 2008 on sharing information about the environment and its protection, public participation in environmental protection and environmental impact assessment (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 283), the President of the National Water Management Authority publishes information on the commencement of the public participation procedure under the strategic environmental impact assessment of the DECP project.
PROGRAMMES SUPPORTING SMALL-SCALE WATER RETENTION
Three national programmes have already been launched, where the aim is to support small water retention reservoirs in rural and urban areas. Here we explain for whom they are intended and which have the possibility of obtaining funding.
