Drought is a natural phenomenon. Depending on the length of the non-rainy periods and the vulnerability of areas to the occurrence of drought, it can cause a different level of drought’s risks, which should be considered as losses in various sectors and industries of the economy.
Climatologists studies clearly show that from the middle of the previous century the frequency of droughts in the world and in our country is growing. The droughts have impacted our country in 2000 and then in 2002-2003, 2005-2006, 2011-2012, 2015 and 2018. Although, we do not have much influence on the occurrence of drought but we can minimize its effects. One of the episodes of the film from the series ‘’Project water” shows how to mitigate the economic effects of drought of 2018 in the agriculture and the governmental plans for the water retention.
