STOP DROUGHT! GOOD PRACTICES AND ECOSYSTEM SERVICES – A REMEDY FOR AGRICULTURAL DROUGHT
When it comes to counteracting the effects of drought, then education, ecosystem services and ensuring natural water retention are just as important as large-scale investment projects. Such undertakings were discussed in Białystok on 6 November. It was the second-to-last meeting this year as part of the public consultations on drafting the Drought Effects Counteracting Plan (DECP).

STOP DROUGHT! INTEGRATED DROUGHT MONITORING SYSTEMS INCLUDED IN THE DECP PROJECT
One of the topics discussed during the public consultation meetings on the draft for the Drought Effects Counteracting Plan (DECP), which took place on 5 November in Olsztyn, was the need to develop an integrated and comprehensive atmospheric, agricultural, hydrological and hydrogeological drought monitoring system.

SWH POLISH WATERS CONDUCTS COMMUNITY CONSULTATIONS ON DROUGHTS AND FLOODS
The public consultations on the ‘Stop Drought!’ project are underway. Meetings have already been held in Poznań, Zielona Góra, Wrocław, Gliwice, Lublin, Rzeszów, Kraków, Szczecin, Koszalin, Gdańsk and Bydgoszcz. In the near future, representatives of SWH Polish Waters and experts working on developing the first Polish Drought Effects Counteracting Plan will visit Białystok and Olsztyn. Unsurprisingly, residents, local government representatives and the media are still very much interested in participating in these meetings.
