Word Water Day is traditionally an opportunity to draw attention to the most important issues in the area of water management in Poland. It will be no different this year. On March 22 in the Library of the University of Warsaw over 100 experts will discuss one of the growing problems- the phenomenon of drought in Poland. The topic of the nationwide conference Stop the Drought! will present the issues of the drought prevention plan (PPSS). This is the first such a comprehensive project of activities in this field in our country.
On February 25, IT system ISOK for protection against extraordinary hazards has been inaugurated. This is one of the most important projects implemented in recent years to increase Poland’s security against natural hazards. The system is available at the following address www.isok.gov.pl.
Since December 17 th, 2018 we have asked institutions and entities connected with the drought issues about the occurrence of this phenomenon as well as planned and implemented measures to prevent and reduce the effects of drought.
There are already 70% of stakeholders registered in the survey system. We are waiting for other respondents
