Mateusz Banasiuk has become the ambassador of the social campaign “Stop the Drought! Start Retention!”.
“I like to spend every free moment with my family surrounded by nature. These moments have a special meaning for me – contact with nature not only brings us closer, but also allows me to catch my breath and gain perspective, which is so necessary in my profession. What is happening in nature is not an empty slogan for me,” says the well-known and popular actor.
“The climate is changing at an alarming rate before our eyes, and the effects are also visible in Poland: record high temperatures, drying lakes and rivers, shrinking groundwater resources, disappearance of wetlands and marshes…”
“Precipitation, although less frequent, is becoming extremely intense. Unfortunately, the dried-out soil and concreted cities are unable to absorb it, which leads to dramatic floods and flooding.”
“To protect ourselves from this, we must plan retention in a thoughtful way, i.e. retaining water in the place of precipitation, starting today. It is time to start counteracting the effects of drought wisely!” appeals Mateusz.
The Ambassador will support informational and educational activities of the project “Stop the Drought! Start Retention!”. There will be talks with experts and practitioners and a large dose of knowledge about drought and ways to counteract it. Join us!
