COMPLETION OF THE DECP PROJECT CONSULTATION PROCESS

The public consultations on the environmental impact assessment of the drought effects counteracting plan (DECP) have come to an end. They constitute the final accent of the whole consultation process for this document. The process was preceded by six-month consultations on the DECP project, which lasted from 15 August 2019 to 15 February 2020.

WORLD DAY TO COMBAT DESERTIFICATION AND DROUGHT

Today, on 17 June, we celebrate the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought. The purpose of this day is to draw attention to ways we can prevent these phenomena. Although recently in Poland the hydrological conditions have improved, this situation may change as the rainfall has not replenished the water deficiency in the environment caused by last year’s drought. Currently, soil moisture has clearly increased in Kujawy, Podlasie and the Lublin Region, whereas the situation in parts of the West Pomeranian, Lubuskie and Łódź Provinces is still difficult. Therefore, counteracting the effects of drought, including the collection of rainwater, is essential in Poland every day of the year.

STOP DROUGHT! CONSULTATION ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT OF THE DECP PROJECT IS ONGOING

Public consultations on the environmental impact assessment of the drought effects counteracting plan (DECP) are in progress until 24 June. Out of concern for our health, the consultation meetings on 2, 9 and 16 June are conducted on-line. Over 300 investments planned under the DECP project have been subjected to strategic assessment. All interested persons may take part in the consultation and make comments and proposals.
